Self-Help Program to Cope with Burnout and Workplace Stress in Healthcare Professionals

Dec. 7, 2023

Burnout occurs in people who constantly work face to face with other people and are exposed to intense emotional demands due to their work; It can be defined as the occurrence of feelings such as long-term fatigue, physical exhaustion, hopelessness and helplessness that affect business life and human relations. Burnout is more common in occupational groups where you work directly with people, where there is heavy workload and time pressure. Healthcare workers face many difficult and exhausting stress factors such as intense workload, shift working patterns, patients' demands and complaints, difficult and complex tasks, not having enough time to rest, poor physical conditions, limited time, seizures, and standing for long periods of time. In this regard, healthcare workers are among the most risky groups in terms of burnout. Taking all these into consideration, a self-help program that can be used to cope with burnout has been developed within the scope of this research.

Self-help refers to the process of overcoming certain problems and improving psychological flexibility through various materials (visual, audio, written, etc.) prepared by experts in their fields, without directly meeting with an expert.

If you participate in the self-help program, you are expected to apply the program content (various text and audio recordings), which consists of 8 steps. Session links will be sent to your e-mail address every three days. Each module takes approximately 30 minutes. In order for the study to be evaluated, some scales will be sent to you before and after the study.

The confidentiality of personal data and information obtained during the study process is guaranteed.
